As the aviation industry becomes more and more proactive, Saudi Arabian Airlines has implemented the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) to allow IATA to focus on airlines’ organizational issues and monitor normal operations.

His Excellency the Director General chaired the closing meeting on 25th May 2005 with SH&E International Air Transport Consultancy who had been selected as the Audit Organization that conducts IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA)

The meeting was attended by all concerned VPs and ICSC members and coordinators.

The Audit team appraised the efforts invested by Saudi Arabian Airlines in preparing and undergoing this audit.

Mr. JEANNIOT stated that the credibility of the airline industry rests largely on its continued demonstration that safety and security are its foremost objectives. He added that the success of Saudi Arabian Airlines is a great example to follow.

H.E. Dr. Ben-Bakr conveyed on his part how glad he was at this international acclaim, coming as it does from a neutral global organization like IATA, whose members exceed 275 airlines worldwide. H.E. stated that IATA utilizes very precise methods in assessing an airline’s operational safety measures.

The audit incorporates all aspects of the airline, including administrative, technical, operational and quality assurance standards. H.E. added that Saudi Arabian Airlines has attained first ranking among 43 international airlines audited by IATA.

The Airline has proved its great competence and high technical ability in the maintenance work done on its aircraft. Over 5000 specialists and technical staff operate in state-of-the-art facilities utilizing the highest international standards.
