The
Air Safety Report (ASR), a representative of the safety reporting system, is an
essential component of the Safety Management System (SMS).
It
enables Saudi Arabian Airlines to establish a non-punitive line of effective
communication and a system of information/observations feed back between the
Flight Safety department and the flight Deck Crew (FDC).
These
vital safety related information is processed through a well established and
tested safety committees and workgroups corporate wide on regular intervals, and
the outcome is utilized to upgrade and make more safe; work practices and
operational standards.
Lessons
learned from such valuable reports are employed in the proactive mode of
prevention programs. Enabling Saudi Arabian Airlines to be steered into a
safer operational environment and work practices. The Air Safety Report
(ASR) form has been extracted from the newly developed Saudi Arabian Airlines
Safety Manual (SAASM), as prepared by corporate safety, with reference to the
aviation operator‘s safety practices working group of Global Aviation
Information Network (GAIN),
where SVA Corporate Safety is a participating member.
It has been streamlined to contain several reporting forms into one simple
yet detailed form, with information required for further investigation made into
a simple check box format.
